Palmyra Boy Scout Troop 477 held a Court of Honor at the Palmyra Church of the Brethren's Camp Pinewoods recently. Several scouts received rank advancements and merit badges as well as leadership certificates.

Rank advancements were earned by Nate Harner (Life), Brandon Blauch (Star), Rory Donnelly (First Class), Canon Gainer (First Class), and Kyle Newman (First Class). Scouts who completed merit badges are Nate Harner (4-Family Life, Citizenship in the World, Emergency Preparedness, and Personal Management), Rory Donnelly (1-Sustainability), Devin Gearhart (2-American Cultures and Sustainability) and Kyle Newman (2-Family Life and Communication).

Scout Master Dave Wagner presented certificates of achievement to the scouts who successfully completed the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops Training. The scouts who completed this training are Nate Harner, Rory Donnelly, Canon Gainer, Devin Gearhart and Kyle Newman. Sub 32 degree patches were also awarded for sleeping outside in temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The scouts who earned this patch are Nate Harner, Dakota Chambers, Rory Donnelly, Canon Gainer, Devin Gearhart, Kyle Newman, and Trevor Yocum.

During the Court of Honor, Nate Harner gave a presentation outlining his planned Eagle Scout project. Also, Troop 477's charter was presented to Pastor Dennis Lohr of the Palmyra Church of the Brethren. The Palmyra Church of the Brethren has been Troop 477's sponsoring organization since February 1967.
